Back in 2015 I photographed a really beautiful festival wedding in the village of Tattenhall in Cheshire for the lovely peeps Rachel and Sam. So what a treat to be asked to come back and do Rachel's brother's wedding, which was being held in the same location.

The family home was the central hub for both weddings – Tattenhall Hall, which sits at the very end of the village and has a lovely big garden perfect for an English garden wedding. Before the garden shenanigans though, Matt and Fliss had their ceremony at St. Albans the local church, before leading their entire wedding party on a celebratory walk through the village back up to the home for what they were calling 'Wedfest'!

There were so many personal touches to this wedding, from hand-painted wayfinding signs, to individual LEGO minifigures for each and every guest. And everyone just seemed to be having so much fun. I left the guys just as the sun was starting to go down and all the strung-up fairy lights were starting to twinkle. Loved, loved, loved this wedding, and I hope there are more family members that want to emulate the day and that they ask me to come back and take pictures again.

The summer sun was out again (it always seems to be sunny in Tattenhall!) so everyone piled onto the lawn for cocktails and canapés and I worked my way through some organised group shots. Then it was a mooch around the nooks and corners of the garden with the new bride and groom before everyone was called to the marquee for food, speeches and games.

"Even though we knew that Steve would take great photos (he shot my sister's wedding as well) we were still taken aback by the quality of the experience we had with him.

From our engagement photo shoot where he instantly puts us at ease about a process we were feeling slightly uncomfortable with, to him covering everything on our wedding day, it felt easy and like we had a friend alongside us for the day.

Steve was immensely calm and great at communicating prior to the day, and managed to be relaxing, clear yet discreet on our day. We really love the photos, which we feel are better than we could have hoped for. But also are massively appreciative of having Steve as such a caring and thoughtful photographer. We could not have higher praise for him and wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to anyone!"
