Authentic wedding photography.
Intimate city centre wedding.
Bethany and Parkes cosy Manchester micro wedding.

Bethany and Parkes planned their beautiful day around this specific area of the city. Close to their home but also close to the river and to their perfect venues. From the start they described their day as 'small and intimate' with a wonderfully manageable number of around thirty friends and family to join them.

We first met earlier in the year for a practice / engagement shoot in Fletcher Moss park down the road in Didsbury. We timed this perfectly to catch the blossom in full bloom in the gardens and straight away I could see how much love there was between these two. They were so much fun to work with.

The wedding day started with a few informal getting ready shots at the couple's apartment, just down the road from the venue. Because everything was in such close proximity it meant we could use time as and when we had it. So when the couple were both ready with ten minutes to spare, we seized the moment and started shooting some really sweet couple shots on the bridge connecting Salford to Manchester City centre.

Then it was over to the Sacred Trinity Church (an easy-breezy 5-mins away) to meet the Reverend and prep for the ceremony. Got to give a mention to the staff at the church who were all so friendly and a good laugh.

The weather was a bit touch-and-go. One of those typical Manchester summer days where you get a bit of all weathers. So we had some sunshine, a few quick showers and some dramatic blustery winds which turned out to be perfect for adding some movement into the photos with Bethany's beautiful dress.

This was a very well documented wedding. With many friends and family overseas and not able to attend in person, the ceremony was live-streamed across the globe, as well as being filmed both professionally by the wonderful Lana Johnson and also on a friend's phone. This felt like an event!

The wind was perfect as well for when we left the church and everyone queued up to throw confetti for the newlyweds, before everyone made their way over to the reception venue – The Lowry Hotel – also a handy 5-min walk away.

Nice for a Manchester wedding photographer to get to shoot a wedding in Manchester!
